In a quest to impact lives, an organization gave Paul and
Mike, two homeless men, a chance to travel to a third world country on an all-expense
paid trip. They were asked to carry nothing along, and to return with nothing. They
should spend all they could. Provisions had been made - expenses and welfare. The
only caveat was that neither of them knew when they would be asked to return
home.

Happy Independence - Nigeria
We join the nation today as she celebrates her 54 years of independence and her 100 years anniversary (April 2014). Nigeria in retrospect shows that the country has not seen so much of good days in terms of human capital development. This unfortunate state of affairs is as paradoxical as it is embarrassing to Nigerians especially in view of all known indicators that Nigeria should become great only few years after her independence in 1960.

The Course of Good Leadership
The ship is majestic as it sets sail on the waters, the winds trying to chart a course while the rudders maintain the ship’s direction. In a big ship, we have hundreds of people- passengers and crew members alike. Whereas all crew members work together to ensure smooth voyage, one man takes responsibility for the safety of all on-board the ship – the Captain. The success of any organization hinges greatly on the lead and expertise of the leader. He however needs the support of others to succeed. The success of the leader is measured by the overall success of the team. When every member of the team performs, the team wins.

Leadership Ability - A Hallmark of Success
A man once worked himself up so much
until he was fagged out. He was being strong I suppose. Save for the advice to
delegate authority, he could have achieved just next to nothing. Leadership is
the inherent ability one has to transfer skills, knowledge, and otherwise to
another. It is invariably a hallmark for resounding success. “Leadership is not about title, position, or
flowchart. It is about one life influencing another”. - John C. Maxwell.
Great and successful leaders are those whose lives and actions inspire others
to dream more, learn
more, do more and become more.

Career Success- Starting Small, Growing Big
Career success
is not just a destination but a life journey built over time, embellished with
hard work and crowned with financial returns. It most times involves starting
small and growing big. Unfortunately, many miss out this salient point. People
have met waterloos in businesses though they set great standards stemming from
big dreams, but never had the opportunity to start out in the first place. One
major setback is the resource - human
and financial, to start up with the high standards envisioned.

Push to Success- Stepping Out of the Comfort Zone
While it is true that
some people are born with a silver spoon in their mouths, the greater part of
the people are not. Being born with a silver spoon also does not tell success.
Success is a product of self-realization, principles, and hard work. It can be
shown that more of the people that meet success in life and career are not
favorably disposed. Not many had the privilege of already prepared grounds. “Great men are not born great; they grow
great.” – Mario Puzo. I have seen and heard people blame upbringing for
their ill fate. Coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, people have been able
against all odds to break even. On the other hand, people with extensive
reserves of fortune have ended up without achievements or influence. It then
leaves me with the option to agree no less that background does not determine
success
What then is the key?

Solar Impulse - First Solar Flight Around the World Without Fuel
“I want to inspire others to achieve the impossible”, said
Piccard. Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg are co-founders of Solar
Impulse, a company that produced the first solar aircraft capable of flying day
and night without a single drop of fuel. This is the first in of its kind in
history. These two Swiss pilots have over the last decade worked on the project
they consider as clean and green, and have met success amidst challenges. In
2010, they completed and successfully flew the first project- Solar Impulse,
which according to them is a prototype of the Solar Impulse 2. Solar Impulse 2
is a solar airplane designed

4 Steps to Sharpening Your Innovative Skills
Man is
created with the ability to set goals and achieve them without fail. It is
however appalling that he fails to utilize the potentials. Research shows that
90% of humans, who lived, underutilized their abilities. It is said that the
graveyard is the richest place on earth. Many people die and are buried with
their potentials unharnessed. For me, the question is, “how do I harness and
maximize what I have within?” Here, we shall find answers to this question, and
the steps to take to make it happen.
