The End of Car Wash- First Self-Cleaning Car By Nissan

If you are tired of visiting the car wash every day, then hear this good news. There may soon be an end to car wash as Nissan unveils a prototype of the self cleaning car. Maybe you are tired of the bucket and sponge routine every morning for your car. This automobile giant has taken another innovative lead as it experiments on keeping a car clean even while in transit by using a special super hydrophobic paint known as Ultra-Ever Dry. This chemical mixture is specially engineered to be extremely resistant to water and oil. The video below shows the Ultra-Ever Dry self-cleaning technology in action.

As can be seen in this video clip, Nissan coated one half of the car with the normal paint and the other half with the Ultra-Ever Dry and subjected to a test drive. The Ultra-ever Dry coated part remained almost spotless while the other part was splattered and dirty afterwards.

In a statement, the company said that by creating a protective layer of air between the paint and environment,  it effectively stops standing water and road sprays from creating a dirty mark on the car's surface. The company is presently running tests on the paint. They have confirmed that it is responding well to normal weather conditions like snow, sleet, frost, and standing water.

Although this kind of paint as is used in some other industrial applications have been known to rub off quickly and does not last normally for more than one year, Nissan says that its Engineers will continue testing the paint (supposedly for improvements) over the next few months at its technical center in Europe. It also quickly added that Nissan does not intend to provide this option as a standard feature, but will make it available as an aftermarket option in future models.

There is no end to innovations. This could be the breakthrough. It is a big plus already.. See you at the top.
