1.
Never
start a day without planning. Do not start your day without having a
direction. If you do, you will achieve far less than you should. Success is
measured by the goals achieved. Set your goals each day before starting the
day. You get focused once you do that first.
2.
Do not
shy away for fear of failure. Most success at one time or the other failed.
Do not shy away from trying for the fear of failing. Not try out something new
is already failure. It is better to make a mistake, learn from the mistake and
get it right after.
3.
Never
approach an offer with a beggarly attitude. If you are looking for a job or
seeking a contract, do not approach it with a beggarly attitude. It will not get
you the job. Even if it will, you would have already lost your bargaining power.
A beggar would always have no choice. That puts the employer or contract giver
at advantage.
4.
Do not
work every day of your life. Always create time to rest and regroup. Do not
work every day of your life. If you do, you will wear out and break down soon. Giving
yourself rest would always increase your productivity. You think better after a
nice and refreshing moment of rest.
5.
Never
push your tough tasks last. When you are beginning your day or week, try to
tackle your tough tasks first. Once the tasks are done, you will find more room
to face other things. If you keep shifting the tough tasks, you will always
feel a load over you. This stays with you for as long as you leave it undone. The
hangover will reduce your productivity.
6.
Do not
put money first. In choosing a career, do not make money your top priority.
Though financial rewards are great, they should not determine what you do. You
should consider what you enjoy doing and the prospects first. Most success today
did not start because of the money. Money eventually comes with doing what you
enjoy. Make your interest your career, and work becomes fun.
7.
Never show
up unprepared. Do not appear in a business discussion, a presentation, an
interview, or an examination without adequate preparations. You do not want to
experience that embarrassment. When you are not fully prepared, you lose every
composition that would give you a deal. Always arm yourself with every detail
you need for a presentation.
8.
Do not
buy everything and sell nothing. It is only a poor man that buys everything
and sells nothing. You should find skills, ideas, services, and goods to sell
constantly. If you buy everything and sell nothing, you will collapse with
time, no matter how much resources you have. Business is buying and selling.
9.
Do not
take up a “Yes Sir” attitude; it will take you nowhere. Always use your
brain and be useful in yourself. Do not just rely on what other people have
finished. Be analytic. Be creative. Be innovative and you will make a mark. If
you do not, you will remain a houseboy.
10.
Finally, Do
not let another determine your happiness. You may be the boss, or you work
for someone. Do not let people around you take away your happiness. Determine
to be happy and make the best out of your day. When you feel frustrated, look
around you and you will always find a reason to be happy… See you at the top.
